RUDSAK – YORKDALE SHOPPING CENTER
The Rudsak shopper has no age, nor specific salary. He or she is fashion forward, “cool and rebel”.
Leather apparel represents masculinity, strength and wealth. It’s a symbol of intimidation, power and individuality. People love leather because of how it molds to our shape, breathes and can withstand extreme punishment.
The new concept for Rudsak at Yorkdale, prestigious Canadian mall, was based on the authenticity of its shopper and the genuine features of leather… as well as the evolution of the existing brand.
Raw metal and glass was used for the entire façade, the 56’ long skylight, full back-wall, floor to ceiling mirror partitions and the industrial arch frame work.
On the left side of the store, we created shops to allow pauses and storytelling. The canvas to this side of the store is a white brick wall illuminated with a concealed LED strip glazing from the ceiling.
The right side contrasts: red old English bricks with darken grout, spotlights every 2 feet for a theatrical effect and this arch that seems that is has been there for 50 years, bring us to the Old world.
Yes we are in an old warehouse somewhere in London transformed into a loft: hand painted tiles patch-work through a concrete floor, suspended wood structure with worn-out metal domes over the cash…
Enjoy the union of texture, rhythm and spontaneity.
